Vacation Essay

St. Croix Snorkeling
By, Logan B.  2-12-14

We went to St. Croix this year for vacation.  It was beautiful (like my Mom), and always warm there!  We got to swim every day!  :-)  I had a blast!

Our hotel was called “The Palms at Pelican Cove.”  It was a GREAT hotel because we got to swim in the awesome pool there and also because we could swim right off the hotel beach.

We got to do four big snorkel trips (and my big brother did scuba diving)!!!!!  The first one we did was with “Captain Louis.”    Captain Louis took us snorkeling off the hotel beach.

The second trip was with “BIG BEARDS.”  It wasn't as good, because it was off a boat to Buck Island and there was a really bad ocean current.  It made snorkeling tough.

The next thing I want to tell you about is my favorite part,  It was…   night snorkeling!  It was the best!  In the two night snorkeling trips we did, these are what I saw…  An Octopus, Sting Ray, about 50 porcupine fish (a type of puffer fish we got to hold), 2 sea cucumbers, 4 Moray Eels,  And a snake eel that we also got to hold!!!!!  My favorite two were the sting ray and octopus!  We also got to see a bunch of cool creatures and plants like anemones.  Coolest vacation ever!

We also went snorkeling at a bunch of other beaches alone.  At one of the beaches I saw about, 6 flounders (a kind of flat fish).  We also saw a bunch of other fish and coral there too.

The vacation to St. Croix was the coolest, best thing, and most awesome thing I’ve ever done!  The things I’ll miss most are…  Swimming and snorkeling.
